The
significance of the APGT's logo
Created in
1992 by the architectural/design firm of Labyrinthe Design, this
logo reflects the image which the Association professionnelle
des guides touristiques, chapitre de Montréal wishes
to project.
-
In
a stylised manner, this logo evokes the shape of Mount Royal
park with its cross, one of Montréal's great symbols;
-
The
arrow's shape expresses a sense of movement and represents the
tourist guide. The four squares which follow it represent tourists
following the guide, and also the four floral emblems on Montréal's
coat of arms and flag;
-
The
curve and the head of the arrow suggest one of the consoles
of the Olympic Stadium, another great symbol and land mark of
the city;
-
The
colours used, dark green suggests Mount-Royal Park (Montréal
green heaven) and red, is the official colour of the City of
Montréal, thus its presence would suggest the APGT's
attachment to the latter.
